MODEPASSAGE

ModePassage Privacy Policy

Last updated 21 October 2026

ModePassage only collects what it needs to find London shops that fit your style, and you can delete your data at any time from inside the app.

Who we are

ModePassage is a style-quiz and shop-finder app for London, run by Ivan Riabchenko ("ModePassage", "we", "us"). We decide how your personal data is used, which makes us the "controller" under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

This policy covers the ModePassage app for iPhone and Android and the website modepassage.app. ModePassage is for people aged 16 and over, and gives 16- and 17-year-olds extra protection (see Age).

Automated results. Your style result, shop matches and suggestions are made automatically from your answers. They are recommendations only: they never decide anything with a legal or similarly significant effect on you, and you can retake the quiz whenever you like.

AI features. Find this look sends your photo to an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) to name the pieces, spot brands and suggest similar items. Results are automatic and can be wrong, so check the shop before you buy. Our AI provider does not use your photos to train its models.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the companies that run parts of the app for us. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.

Provider What they do for us Data they handle
Supabase Accounts and saved results database Account, results
Cloudflare Runs our server Requests from the app, usage counts, device ID
Anthropic (Claude) AI that reads photos in Find this look Photos you upload
Google Maps, shop opening hours and photos; Sign in with Google Shop searches; your Google sign-in if you use it
Apple Sign in with Apple; App Store payments Your Apple sign-in; purchases
Google Play Payments on Android Purchases
RevenueCat Keeps track of what you bought App user ID, purchase records
Sentry Crash reports Crash details, phone model, app version
Expo Passes notifications to Apple's and Google's push services Push token, notification text

We may also share data if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or if ModePassage is sold or merged, in which case this policy continues to apply.

Shop websites: when we show new arrivals, sizes and prices, our server reads the shop's public product list. No personal data about you is sent to the shop. If you tap through to a shop's website, their own privacy policy applies.

International transfers

Some of these providers store or process data outside the UK, mainly in the USA and the European Union. When that happens, we use the safeguards UK law requires: the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as you use ModePassage, and you can delete it yourself at any time.

Data How long
Date of birth On your phone only, until you delete the app
Quiz answers you haven't paid for On your phone only, until you retake the quiz or delete the app
Saved results and account Until you delete the result or your account
Photos for Find this look Not stored by us. Our AI provider keeps them only for a short time for safety checks, then deletes them
Daily detection counts 3 days
Special price start time 12 months, so the 24-hour offer can't restart
Purchase records As long as the law requires for tax and accounting, usually 6 years
Messages to us Up to 2 years after we last hear from you
Crash reports 90 days
Shop ratings Kept only as part of the shop's average. Ratings are tied to your phone, never to your name or account, and others only see the average
Push token Until you turn off notifications or delete the app
Waitlist email Until 6 months after launch, or until you unsubscribe

Deleting your data

Deleting is permanent. To see a deleted result again, you would need to take the quiz and pay again. Payments are made to Apple or Google, so refunds are handled by them.

Your rights

Under UK law you can ask us to:

Email hello@modepassage.app. We reply within one month and it is free. We may ask you to confirm who you are first.

Age

ModePassage is for people aged 16 and over. The app checks your age when you first open it. If we learn that someone under 16 has given us data, we delete it.

If you are 16 or 17, the app follows the UK Children's Code and protects you more by default:

These extra protections end automatically when you turn 18.

Emails and marketing

We only send news and offers if you tick the box to say yes. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We never send marketing to anyone under 18. We will still send messages you need, such as sign-in codes and receipts.

Security

Your data travels encrypted (HTTPS). Saved results can only be read by your own account. Our secret keys stay on our server and are never in the app. No system is perfectly secure, but if something goes wrong that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the ICO as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app before it applies.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we use your data, please contact us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, phone 0303 123 1113.
